ROBERT III THE LION OF FLANDERS: History, Films and Computer Games. GREAT STUFF!

The Break up of Belguim very much in the news, reminded me of the Battle of the Golden Spurs and the cult movie (well in Flanders, Holland and Germany) , the Lion of Flanders, now the film is available on Amazon. It pre-dated Mel Gibsons Braveheart which may owe a lot to The Lion of Flanders. Robert III will be first in a series on European Medieval heroes I shall start to post up information on in course of time, to perhaps inspire you all further to get a lot more active than you are regards CADW's plans to make the Princes of Gwynedd and Dehuebarth (is that a kind of 'one Wales' coalition back room deal, like that Cofia Tryweryn wall to keep Plaid partners happy?) more historically important perhaps than the Princes of Powys and Glywysing. Instead Cadw focuses favourable on the Anglo - Norman 'Conquistadores'.

Not true at all, Powys and the South very much fought on, one way or another and not least by becoming allies of the Princes of pura Wallia and not least of Owain Glyndwr. So get up and at it, set up Powys and Glywysing Medieval Initiatives asap and if going in with CADW, you will need to establish Powys and Glywysing Heritage Tourism Consortiums fast, if you want to attend CADW HT project work shops.
