BASILIQUE CATHEDRALE DE SANT - DENIS, PARIS. A National Centre of French Medieval Monarchy Monuments.

.
I picked up this brochure on my recent trip to Paris but had no time to visit, more is the shame. Below is some information to excite your curiosity, and you will be able to find out much more information on the web. There is no similar National Centre in Wales but our Cathedrals and ruined Abbeys hold graves of similar Medieval Welsh Monarchist importance, if I had the time I would supply some details here, but unfortunately I do not and thus, if that interested it is a task you will enjoy sussing out yourselves hopefully.

DAFYDD AP GRUFFYDD, DAFYDD III. 2008 will mark the 725th Anniversary of his brutal & bloody Execution on 3 Octoberr 1283.

.
See Picture below of front cover of a pamphlet published by Cofiwn in 1983, I have only my copy left. It would be great to see it republished in time for the fourth coming anniversary, any publisher out there up for that? I guess the authors permission will have to be sought? I am sure with some pictures and illustrations it would make an interesting pamphlet, plus of course it's an interesting and controversial account of Dafydd III and those ''Lost Ten Months''. Anyone interested in doing something with this suggestion, do make contact asap. As for commemoration the 725th anniversary of the execution, anyone with some forgiveness in their hearts are encouraged to place tributes at site of the execution, near the Cross in Shrewsbury, note there is a plaque on the building opposite. Please note if anyone does this, your photographs will be appreciated. Diolch!

REALLY LOOKING VERY GOOD FOR THE PRINCES OF GWYNEDD, at Llys Rhosyr on Ynys Mon but can the same be said for Aberffraw just up the road?

.
See below pictures of leaflets: Excellent work going on at Llys Rhosyr with also an exhibition & Audio Visual show close by in the Pritchard Jones Institute, Niwbwrch/Newborough. However, as far as I can recollect from a visit last year, not much is being done at Aberffraw to promote it as a ''Welsh Tara''. Despite the importance of the location as chief Royal Centre of Gwynedd, there are no road signs that indicate this and despite there being a newly built Canolfan Llys Llywelyn, it is in the main a centre for accomodation. There is a Conference, Tourist Shop and Gallery for local artists but other than a memorial representing the unseating of the Princes of Gwynedd, there is little else to interpret the story of our ''uno numero'' Cymric Royal Dynasty.

Become a Medieval Expert with just three books.

.

The First book illustrated below is published by English Heritage, if only Cadw could publish the same for our Welsh Medieval World, that'll be the day? Whatever, while waiting on Cadw, note this book > Welsh Military Institutions, 633–1283 In Welsh Military Institutions, Sean Davies offers a new approach to the military history of Wales, arguing that, in fact, military developments in Wales ...www.uwp.co.uk/book_desc/1836.html - 3k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this

A brilliant book but at £30.00 a bit too expensive for most, so I suggest a trip to your local Library but do read it, it's a must for all interested in Medieval Welsh History. Not least for those who wish to establish genuine Welsh Medieval Re-Enactment Societies rather than the usual English Garrison Soldiery that Cadw employs for it's events and activities.

LOOKING GOOD FOR LLYWELYN III, recognition at last on the tourism trail and why not, if it gets the job done!

.
Buellt is really going for it, with a mural and a logo, a much used Crowned head. Plus in so many years two great Gwlad Llywelyn III Brochures.
.

.
The British Horse Society has established a Prince Llywelyn III Bridle path all the way across central Cymru from Lloyney near Knighton close to Offas Dyke to Borth/Ynys Las on the Ceredigion Coast. That's some serious riding, for further details contact the British Horse Society 08701 202244. Unfortunatly it's the wrong Llywelyn image/statue on the brochure cover, that's of course Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan, a follower of Owain Glyndwr, but never mind brochure re printing can correct that, lets just be thankful to BHS for what they have established.
.

.
The big one, excellent Initiative shown here, great brochure and even greater website. It's a Tours project but I am quite happy to see this as the Gwlad Tywysog Gwynedd I have called for in previous posts. Only got to know about this after discovering the brochure in a TIC on my recent wanderings in the North. This Brochure can be obtained from Bettws y Coed and District Tourism Office or see addresses in www.betws-y-coed.co.uk

.
Now Aberffraw next, let see it become as good as Tara in Ireland, Aberffraw needs a proper CANOLFAN GWLAD TYWYSOG CYMRU as befitting the Royal Centre of our ''Cymric High Kings''.
