LLYWELYN FAWR TYWYSOG CYMRU 1216 -THE TREATY OF ABERDYFI: Now Let Us See Aberdyfi, Gwynedd, Pura Wallia and Wales Commemorate and Celebrate This Most Signifigant Event In Our History Big Time As England Did For Magna Charta 800th Anniversary 1215 - 2010.

This important 800th Anniversary comes along in 2016 and needs the full on treatment, not least by Gwynedd Council and Welsh with Assembly Recognition, a Commemorative Coin and Stamp etc. As well lots of commemorative and celebrative events and activities especially in Gwynedd, pura Wallia and Wales in passing over all as it's an important step in our nation building history. Thus with such in mind what's needed is the setting up of a Cymdeithas Llywelyn Fawr and Aberdyfi 1216 Commemorative Committee to campaign and organise commemorative and memorial activity, inc plaques and an Heritage Trail etc.

Whatever it takes to make it as big and meaningful as this years Magna Charta commemoration in England. 2011 will mark the 795th Anniversary of the Treaty of Aberdyfi 1216 and I see no reason why commemorations could not begin next year in an organising sense, a meeting of all interested parties and groups could be called to a meeting in Aberdyfi during 2011.

Why not make this an annual event with purpose of looking into the history of this period and at the same time consider all proposals with the 2016 800th anniversary commemoration in mind. I am not going much further with this than this post to alert and arouse interest in this matter, perhaps Aberdyfi concerns, council or whatever should take priority initial action.

So go to it! But none of this secretive face book nonsense from 'Hayes Honchos' or I will be on their backs untill they get real and drop the stupid 'Cymru 1400' etc stuff - 'Nash Nonsense!' and buckle down to serious politics or history enthusiasm in practise for real not just parading about. cannot wait for the 800th anniversary in 2016, I may be dead? though, I spose it's not so far off really and a major National Commemoration then would coincide with the 100th Anniversary of Ireland's Easter Rising 1916 - 2016.

So maybe next year the 795th Anniversary could be used to promote idea of something bigger in 2016, thus why not initiate an annual Treaty of Aberdyfi Commemoration next year, plus weekend school on subject of 13th century Wales plus over the years then start planning and preparing for Treaty of Aberdyfi 800th Anniversary National Commemoration. On the whole that seems the better plan and do use Cadw Princes of Wales Initiative to serve this purpose, see below.

That's it from me, I suggest others of interest might get in touch with Councils and Assembly etc with all the above in mind. Good on you, if you do. I am sure Nationalists would also be interested and they might organise their own events and activities, not least I suggest an annual Political Conference could be held do disciss and debate the history of Welsh 'Nation Building' in relation to contemporary consitutional matters. So don't hang about go for it! Keeping well in mind how useful the Cadw Princes of Gwynedd Initiative could be to this, so go get a bite of the pie before it's too late ok!
