1: BRENHINOL CYMRU Promoting an Interest in History of the native Royal Dynasties, Cunedda to Owain Glyndwr - Owain IV - Last Native Prince of Wales.

.
Three reasons have motivated me to move this initiative forward, they are as follows, see below. But first let me tell you this much, for past five years our Welsh Heritage, mainly ''Built Heritage'' Industry Establishment that revolves around Cadw, RCAHMW, Civic & National Trusts et al, inc Museum Services and Archaelogical Interests have been holding numerous meetings, workshops and conferences under auspicies of an Heritage Environment Group and series of Conferences under umbrella, and on platform of Treftadaeth'08 & '09 conferences. The fruit of their labours will be announced very soon (later this month ok) by the WAG Minister of Heritage Alun Ffred Jones, in a Statement and Action Plan on a New Welsh Heritage Strategy.
.
Now pay attention dear patriots, much of this will be very positive and seemingly patriotic but this Heritage Industry Establishment have not been exactly transparent or inclusive in development of all this. It will all very much look as if it's all kind of just lifting off but in fact much has already been farmed out via Cadw & ACW in preparation for the 'Cultural Olympiad. At same time Cadw has been moving forward fast tracking a five year plan, this again looks very positive and patriotic, and thus far various groups have put forward up to 50 projects.
.
What these projects are I have yet to find out, but one things for sure with lots of money in grants being sloshed about, I detect already as first on the scene by 'nature of the beast', are those involved in the arts and the artistic, as well as cultural activities in general. I suspect a ''feeding fenzy'' over grants is going on at this very moment. Excuse me if i am a bit cynical, it's only because I have began to smell some involved, who up to now have shown no interest in Welsh History let alone promote, organise or attend any Patriotic Commemoration. However, lets put all that cynicism aside and welcome these new converts aboard, and I have no doubt that most involved will be ultra - truistic in their endeavours, in time we will see that's for sure.
.
I mention all this just to alert you to such facts and a possibilty that soon the cupboard will be bare of any money, and we may just see this New Welsh Heritage Strategy become a real mish mash of moderacy, you know 'tame taffy'' stuff. Thus I urge you give it the big heave, get excited and go for it regards Brenhinol Cymru and 2011 Brenhinol Cymru 1000 and related projects, or go over to I'r Gad WBC blog, and look for something worth while to do, and yes go GRAB GRANTS (did I say that? Choke!), why not everyone else is! Also if really up for this, make contact and attend possible December 2009 meeting, lets crack it and fast track forward ourselves. There's a lot at stake, so do it!
.
1: I am working towards my retirement from Patriotic pro - activness and closing down on Welsh Remembrance work as well. To such end I am archiving away much work and seeking to pass on o/s work not embarked upon or not completed. To such end, I have to prioritise if I am to get to my retirement deadline year 2014. Thus when push comes to shove, it's going to be a pile of my medieval studies, research and labours plus frustrated projects that, I am afraid are going to get short drift. In the main because there is so much of it, although I am committing myself to completion of projects, as The Cofiwn and Rali Cilmeri Stories, to be published as scrapbooks and DVD's of Film footage, much will be put to bed in Library archives, dumped or re packaged and handed on. Reasons 2 & 3 below moves me to package much in a one major BRENHINOL CYMRU Initiative Package working much towards good purpose of a special 2011 celebration of 1000 years of Welsh Native Dynasties and commemoration of their contribution to our nations history.
.
2: I am aware, and you should be that the WAG - MofH Alun Ffred Jones is keen to see much more pro-actively done regards Welsh Medieval History, and Cadw & Co are being moved towards initiatives based on Princes of Gwynedd and Deheubarth but not of Powys and Glywysing. Why? possibly because Powys is connected to Owain Glyndwr, and probably they do not want too much of he? Whilst in the South, they probably do not want to step on HERIAN's toes, nor let on to the 'Hwntws' that they have an history before the 19th Century Industrial Revolution. This of course is stupidity in itself, and thus is a very good reason why to set up BRENHINOL CYMRU to compliment work of HERIAN but of course focusing on Medieval history which will include the Native Royal Dynasties of Wales.
.
3: At present there is being organised in the South a two year Chartist Commemoration 2009 - 2010, and next year we shall see commemoration of the 1910 Tonypandy Riots and year after the 1911 Llanelli Riots. Great, and I fully welcome but what really interests me, is that in all this one can find fully involved and engaged; not only British Chartist Commemorative Socities and Websites but also a Chartist Cymru Network, HERIAN, Llafur, Bevan Foundation, Labour Party and Colleges and Schools also a veriaty of cultural bodies. Great! I have no problem with that either, but when did you ever see similar ''Nationalist/Cultural Nationalist'' bodies of similar nature being so involved, engaged and united in action. Never! not in 1n 1982, re Cofia 1282 nor in Glyndwr 1400 - 2004, nor Glyndwr 1404 - 2004 Commemorations on such scale as that now behind the aforementioned Chartist Commemoration. Although Embassy Glyndwr is hoping that things may be much better when it comes to Glyndwr 660 regards anniversary of the Birth of Owain Glyndwr on 28 May 1354. But I am hoping we can get that similar unity and Solidarity re my BRENHINOL CYMRU initaive and propsal for BRENHINOL CYMRU 1000 in 2011.
.
So, see below and note that I have much I can repackage as projects for below, for others to carry on with hopefully to some good purpose, not least going out and grabbing all the grants available as others are doing. So go for it!

BRENHINOL CYMRU.

Society for promotion of interest in the history of the native
Royal Dynasties of Cymru.

*
2011 Marks the 100th Anniversary of the first Investiture
in the Town of Caernarfon of an English Prince of Wales
Edward VIII Duke of Windsor 21st English Prince of Wales.
Charles Windsor being 22nd English Princes of Wales,
second to be Invested as such In the Town of Caernarfon
in 1969, making 2011 the 42nd Anniversary of that Investiture.
The question begging to be asked, is whilst there will no
doubt be a 23rd English Prince of Wales ‘William Windsor’,
but will there be a third Investiture in The English
Castle Borough – Royal Town of Caernarfon?

*
Sad to say the Welsh today, and have for centuries
since the Owain Glyndwr war of Independance1400 – 1421
have come to accept slavishly these English Princes
of Wales. Largely because they are ignorant and
misinformed of their History, and know very little of the
history of the Native Princes & Princesses of Wales.
Thus we shall attempt with your patriotic help to put this
right in 2011 with a year long, and ‘all Wales’
commemoration and celebration of the history of our own
Native Royal Dynasties, from time of Cunedda to that of
Owain IV ‘Tywysog Cymru’ our last native Prince.

*
It may hopefully not only stop any establishmenth hopes of
such a third Investiture taking place, but perhaps begin to
undermine and do away with the whole concept and tradition
of English Princes of Wales. If Wales Is to have a
Prince, why not a native born Welsh Prince
or indeed Princess of Wales? Discuss & Debate!

*
If interested in working on this Brenhinol Cymru 1000 Initiative do get in touch and state so, and if you are prepared to attend a meeting to discuss project proposals further. Perhaps presenting your own ideas and being thence fully involved in the development and advance of this grand Initiative. A meeting may take place on 11 Rhagfyr 2009 in Central Cymru, if suffiecient Patriots are interested in above and of mind to attend and discuss the whole much further. Note, you may get in touch via S.Ifan at Embassy Glyndwr.

See fourthcoming Post on some basic Brenhinol Cymru Ideas!
