ENGLISH KINGS AND QUEENS REGNAL LISTS - HOW ENGLISH HISTORY IS PROMOTED IN A POPULAR FASHION FOR A LONG TIME AND CYMRU/WALES VERY SLOW IN CATCHING UP - PATHETCALLY SO!

The below poorly reproduce photographs are of free Times News Paper giveaway Poster printed both sides depicting information on the Kings and Queens of England. Now in the development of a 'National Consciousness', more so than culture because such can change so much and be adapted to suit as in Welsh History to suit continuing English rule, not least since 1536. Religion comes out on top a great deal, Ireland as an Example, just compare Protestant Wales and Catholic Ireland since 1536 to the present day. However, at the most basic it's possible something as simple as a Coin with a Kings Head on it that becomes the key to creating a concept of one singular 'Identity' in time increasingly 'National'. The English soon hit on the idea that such 'National Identity' be best promoted via popular identification with Monarchy + Church = State, the Church of course was every where but not so the Monarchy.

Thus as the age of print and publishing took off, increasingly published were small booklets for the 'masses' that depicted a 'National History' via Regnal Lists. As education in time would provide a national platform for furtherence of a 'National Consciousness', schools of course were used to promotes such 'National Identity' not only were books produced to promote knowledge of Monarchy and national history linked to they but also rulers were produced with regnal lists there upon. Today it's very much mass media that does this via Films, TV and Popular Magazines and of course induced mass interest in the Monarchy as now also 'Celebrity' worthy of media celebration as recent W&K wedding, next year it will be the Diamond Jubileee and then 1953 Coronation Anniversary. Not much hope is there, for Welsh National Identity, especially when Welsh Nationalism is too 'Culturally' and 'Politically' Gutless to opposes as Cofiwn once did and Ysbryd Cofiwn continues to do from time to time. (See Cofiwn Blog link below at conclusion of this post)

Here, I am going to focus on one area we could do something about if sufficient Patriots woke up and got active, I mean active not parade about as at Rali Cilmeri - An event now best left to Cadw Princes of Wales Initiative after the Patriotic Pathetic Fringe 'Cymric Cowardice' of 29 Ebrill 2011 BECHOD DROS CYMRU. Pathetic Fringers to Prysgduon I say! However, to move on as to what can be done and should be done and it's none too difficult really - Just a matter of taking on CADW = Conquest And Defeat Wales both passivelly and activelly if the latter is not possible, then at least lets see some pretty rigourous Passive Action as for instance letters of complaint to Cadw, Media and A.M's et al. However, I run ahead of myself what's to complain about?

The promotion of an 'English National Identity' and thus English - Anglo - Taffy Identity Including still in publications aimed at children, not least in tourism and that includes within the Welsh Tourism Industry espcially at Cadw's Castles. Just go check in Cadw Shops associated with their Castles in Wales, how much of the publications and products on sale are of a 'Welsh' subject and content  matter particularly regards any Cymric/Welsh Regnal lists, not least linked to history. You will for the most find books, booklets, rulers and playing cards etc all based on providing information on the English Monarchy as linked to English History.  I have bought loads of such books in Welsh Castle Shops, some refer to the Kings and Queens of Britain, inc Scottish and Irish regnal lists but not Welsh. Though they have the cheek to rip of Bodicca, Caractus and Arthur, one little booklet worth mentioning as including history of Welsh Kings and Princes is the Collins Gem Kings and Queens, an excellent publication and worth obtaining and ony £4.99 too. Now take a look at the English Heritage and Cadw Links below:

You will note that Cadw comes no where near English Heritage in English History Interest Publications and Products, not least for children, in fact I think Cadw probably obtains most of such from English Heritage. On my recent visit to Goodrich Castle my eyes were really opened as to what Cadw needs to be providing to the Castles of Wales as part and parcel of their Princes of Wales EU - HT Interpretation Plan.

So for starters lets see a Welsh Pamphlet/Booklet produced exclusivelly about our native Kings and Princes and what about a Welsh History Wall Charts and Illustrated Posters and Playing Cards and Rulers for adults. I have provided my research and info regards what can be done in this area to a group of people with in mind a commission being set up to look into this area of Welsh History, Regnal Lists and otherwise being produced as popular publications and products for Cadw and associated Tourism and other shops in particular. You, please back up as  have suggested and not least also via getting URDD BREHINOL CYMRU up and running as a promoter of Welsh Living History Interpretation via such as the following:
